Noreen Anne M. Yambao

Strings | Violin 1

Noreen has been a member of the Manila Symphony Orchestra since 2014 and has performed with the orchestra in major cities in the Philippines through its annual geason concerts, special concerts, outreach concerts and ballet productions. She was with the MSO for their first international concert tour, The Belt & Road Concert held in Shengjing Grand Theater in Shenyang, China in 2019. She is also an active member of the internationally-awarded youth orchestra, the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra, who won 2nd Prize (2017) and 1st Prize (2018) at the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival. Noreen is also a member of The Bard Trio, the 2020 National Prize Winner for Chamber Category at National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA). She was also a former member of the University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra, PREDIS Chamber Orchestra and Pundaquit Virtuosi by Casa San Miguel.

Noreen studied under the tutelage of her father, Nolan Yambao,and thereafter, Silke Hipolito, Alfonso Bolipata, Arturo Molina, Jeffrey Solares and Gina Medina-Perez. She also took various development trainings including String Orchestra Workshops with Professor Saul Zaks and Andy Icochea Icochea in Vienna, Austria, Masterclass with renowned conductor Maestro Thanos Adamopolous at the Asian Youth Orchestra, Suzuki Teacher Training with Dr. Lan Ku Chen, and trainings under Philippine Research for Developing Instrumental Soloists (PREDIS), Pundaquit Virtuosi and UP College of Music Extension Program.

Noreen is currently taking her Master of Music Major in Chamber Music in St. Paul University Manila and completed her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance in University of Santo Tomas. Noreen is also a violin teacher at Tempo Primo Academy.
