“MSO has definitely taught me a lot about orchestra playing and chamber playing. I learned more in MSO than I did back in school. I would be forever grateful to MSO for taking me under their wings and giving me opportunities to become a better musician.”
Hazel joined the Manila Symphony Orchestra in 2016 and has performed with the orchestra in its gala concerts, special concerts, outreach concerts, and tours including its first international concert tour in the 5th Hunhe River Symphony Art Festival held in the Shenjing Grand Theater, Shenyang, China in 2019. In 2020, Hazel participated in the MSO String Teachers Development Workshop under Jeffrey Solares.
Hazel was a guitar major when she entered the university. The dean in the university encouraged her to take viola as her minor. But a couple of years later, she changed her major into viola as she fell in love with the instrument. Hazel studied Bachelor of Music in Music Education from St. Paul University Manila under the tutelage of Joy Allan Dela Cruz. She is currently studying under Maurice Ivan Saraza.
