Strings | Violin 1
Monica started playing the violin at 11 years old through a Music program in her school. In 2014, she joined the Manila Symphony Orchestra and has performed at gala concerts, special concerts, outreach concerts and tours, including MSO’s first international in the 5th Hunhe River Symphony Art Festival held in the Shenjing Grand Theater, Shenyang, China in 2019. Monica is also a violinist of the internationally-awarded Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) who won 1st Place in 2018 and 2nd Place in 2017 in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival held at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. She participated in the Suzuki Korean Association Summer Music Festival in 2019 and the MSO Music Academy String Teachers Development Workshop under Jeffrey Solares.
Aside from her work with MSO and MSJO, Monica is part of the 2021 Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) 30th Anniversary Concert Tour in Europe and Asia.
Monica graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Music Major in Violin Performance from the University of Santo Tomas under the tutelage of Prof. Jeffrey Solares. She is currently studying under Diomedes Saraza, Jr. Monica is also a faculty member of the MSO Music Academy.
